Editor's Note: March 31, 2025
In our latest progress report, we've set a tentative date for our first newsletter. And if you're Interested in contributing to Words & Money, we'd like to hear from you.

Hello Words & Money community, it’s time for another brief progress report. But again, we start by thanking our early subscribers, including those of you who are taking paid subscriptions—we appreciate the support!
We begin this week with a note on our editorial. If you’ve been visiting the site, you’ll see it’s filling up quickly with library news. And while library news will always be a big part of what we do, a reminder that it is only one part of our editorial vision for Words & Money. We have an array of features and interviews in the works, which we will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
Another important component, meanwhile, will be contributed content. From essays and reports to interviews, opinion, and analysis, if you’re a librarian, author, publisher, technologist, educator or a journalist interested in contributing to Words & Money, we’d love to hear from you. You can email me directly at andrew@wordsandmoney.com with your pitches, ideas, or with any questions.
In terms of the Words & Money website, you’ll notice it’s has been changing a bit as we grow. And it will surely change some more in the coming weeks as we get closer to our official launch. For now, the Words & Money site is basically still in beta and there’s still lots to work out, including, for example, how the site is indexed, how our content renders on desktop and mobile, and also in organizing our own internal taxonomy, to name a few.
That said, we’re pleased with our progress and with the Ghost platform, which we've been able to modify pretty effectively with help from our web designer, Sam McAlilly. And—at the risk of burying the lede—we are now aiming to launch our first newsletter on April 25, followed shortly thereafter by our first podcast.
Stay tuned, keep in touch, and we thank you again for your support!
